1. Who we are
Sukljian Trading & Marketing Co. ("Sukljian", "we", "our") is a distribution company based in Bayader, Amman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, connecting trusted consumer brands with retailers across Jordan since 1954. This policy explains what personal data we collect through our website, sukljian.com, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We handle personal data in line with Jordan's Personal Data Protection Law No. (24) of 2023 and the regulations issued under it.
2. What we collect
We only collect personal data that you choose to give us, plus the limited technical information any website needs in order to work:
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone number and the message you write to us.
- Job applications (Careers page): the profession you are applying for, your full name, email address, phone number, address, years of experience, an optional LinkedIn or portfolio link, and the CV file you attach. If you use the "Use my current location" option, your device's location is used once, only to help fill in your address; we never track your location in the background.
- Technical data: our hosting and security providers process basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, in order to deliver the site securely and filter out automated spam. We do not run advertising trackers or behavioural analytics on this site.
3. Why we use it
We use personal data to respond to enquiries you send us, to review job applications and contact candidates about roles, to keep the website secure and free of spam and abuse, and to remember your language preference. We process your data on the basis of the consent you give when you submit a form, and our legitimate need to operate and protect our website and business. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Who sees your data
Your data is seen by the Sukljian team members who need it to answer you or to assess your application. Like most websites, we also rely on established service providers to run parts of the site:
- Sukljian infrastructure hosts the website and securely stores form submissions and CV files. Our authorised team receives career applications through our internal recruitment system.
- Cloudflare provides secure website access and Turnstile spam protection for form submissions.
- Google provides the embedded location map and helps identify your area only when you choose to share your current location. The location coordinates are sent for that lookup. Fonts are served by this website; contact messages, applications and CV files are not sent to Google by the website forms.
- Behold displays our Instagram feed on the site.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security commitments, and their servers may be located outside Jordan. Where data leaves Jordan, we use providers that apply recognised data-protection safeguards. Beyond this, we do not share your personal data with third parties unless the law requires it.
5. Cookies and browser storage
This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. It stores a small number of items in your browser so the site can work: your language choice (English or Arabic), items required by our hosting platform, and items used by the Instagram feed. Our spam-protection tool (Cloudflare Turnstile) may set a cookie needed to tell people apart from automated programs. You can clear or block these at any time in your browser settings; the site will keep working, though your language choice may reset.
6. How long we keep it
Contact enquiries are kept for as long as needed to handle your request, and for a reasonable period afterwards as part of our business records. Job applications and CVs are kept for up to one year from submission so that we can consider you for suitable roles, unless you ask us to delete them sooner, or you join our team, in which case they become part of your employment records.
7. Your rights
Under Jordan's Personal Data Protection Law, you have the right to know what personal data we hold about you, to access it, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent you previously gave. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.

If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you may also complain to the Personal Data Protection Council at Jordan's Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship.
8. How we protect it
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal data we hold, and we limit access to the people who need it. No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure, but if a breach affecting your data ever occurs, we will act as the law requires, including notifying the competent authorities and affected individuals where applicable.
9. Children
This website is not directed at children, and our job application form is intended for people who are legally entitled to work in Jordan. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; if you believe a child has submitted data to us, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Links to other services
The site contains links to services we do not operate, such as WhatsApp, Google Maps, Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook. Once you leave our site, the privacy policies of those services apply.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we change providers or when the law changes. The current version, with its date, will always be on this page.
